R.I.P. Pinetop Perkins
It's with great sadness that I must report the death of one of the great blues musicians of the 20th century, Pinetop Perkins, at the age of 98. I'm aware that many of you may not know who Pinetop Perkins is, so allow me to educate you. Pinetop was one of the greatest blues pianists on the planet. He graced the stage with an assortment of blues musicians during his time as a performer including Earl Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Hubert Sumlin. This man was truly a prize in the blues music world and, coming from a die-hard, devout blues fan, he will be sorely missed. Take a moment to listen to some classic tunes Pinetop Perkins played on below.
